Key Responsibilities   

Clear Ballot is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to help make our ClearVote™ and ClearAudit™ products easy to use by election officials and voters. In this role, you’ll: 

  • Create and edit technical content that enables election officials and voters to use the ClearVote™ and ClearAudit™ products. 

  • Collaborate with your teammates on your cross-functional agile team to design content that makes new features easy to use while meeting regulatory requirements. 

  • Define and help execute a long-term strategy to augment our printed manuals with online help, in-app help, and how-to videos. 

  • Create, curate, and prune content in our internal and customer-facing knowledge bases. 

  • Become an expert on the documentation requirements included in certification regulations, including the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines. 

  • Enable more efficient completion of documentation work by proposing improvements to documentation processes and tools. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • 6+ years writing and editing technical documentation. 

  • 3+ years creating topic-based documentation using MadCap Flare. 

  • 3+ years creating content in media other than technical manuals, including online help, in-app help, or how-to videos. 

  • 3+ years creating content using HTML and CSS. 

  • 2+ years using content optimization tools (e.g., HyperSTE or Acrolinx). 

  • 2+ years using a modern source control system (e.g., git). 

  • The ability to learn complicated information and write it clearly, simply, and succinctly. 

  • Experience working as a technical writer on a cross-functional Agile team. 

  • A track record as a collaborative, communicative teammate.
