BOSTON, MA -- Clear Ballot announced today that the New York State Board of Elections (NYSBOE) has formally certified ClearVote 2.4 for use in New York.  The ClearVote suite is Clear Ballot’s first full voting system release in the Empire State, and includes ClearCast Go, a next generation precinct tabulator, and ClearMark, an accessible ballot marking device that was designed specifically for New York.

Clear Ballot currently operates in more than 40 New York counties, as an absentee tabulation or post-election audit system. The first use of Clear Ballot’s ClearVote system will take place in this year’s November elections.

“We are proud of the strong relationships we have with election officials all across New York as their audit and absentee partner, and we look forward to strengthening those relationships as we begin working with counties as their in-person voting system partner,” said Clear Ballot CEO Bob Hoyt. “We designed ClearVote 2.4 to specifically meet the needs of New York counties and received important feedback from our customers that was integrated into the design process. We believe that ClearVote is going to be transformative in New York.”

Clear Ballot is committed to continuous innovation while staying true to its mission of tabulating voter-verifiable paper ballots. With the certification of ClearCast Go, Clear Ballot is introducing their new, cutting-edge precinct tabulator in New York featuring an intuitive user interface for voters and a durable, ATA-style case that has been designed to transport equipment safely and securely. ClearCast Go offers a quick, easy poll setup and breakdown, saving poll workers valuable time on Election Day.

ClearVote 2.4 includes ClearMark, Clear Ballot’s ADA-compliant accessible ballot marking device that was designed and built for New York and usability tested at the world-renowned Perkins School for the Blind. Housed in a matching ATA-style case, ClearMark is easy for poll workers to set up and allows the option of a laser or patent-pending thermal printer that prints full-faced, undifferentiated paper ballots to ensure voters can cast their ballots privately and independently. All of Clear Ballot’s equipment is manufactured in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Clear Ballot is committed to bringing new technology to elections in New York and plans to release regular updates to their suite of voting solutions to help support counties as they adapt to the changing elections landscape.

“While this is our first voting system release in New York, we know that it won’t be our last, and we look forward to supporting election officials here in the Empire State for years to come,” said CEO Bob Hoyt.
