"My favorite aspect? It opens it up to everybody in the office. It’s no longer so unique and so difficult to do that only one or two people know the mystery of the machine. It’s easy for staff."

The Clear Ballot Difference

See how using Clear Ballot has benefited our customers.

When looking to upgrade their voting technology earlier this year, Rensselaer County’s Election Commissioners wanted a system that was secure, easy-to-use, and would save them time and resources leading up to Election Day. After seeing a demonstration of the ClearVote system, they knew that Clear Ballot was the right choice for Rensselaer County.

“Within the 45 minute demonstration, I was sold. They had me hook, line, and sinker,” said Democratic Commissioner Mary Sweeney.

Since implementing the ClearVote system, Rensselaer County has been able to dramatically decrease the amount of time it takes them to program their elections. “Programming used to take a very long time. We were doing one card at a time. Now we could do 30 to 32 at a time. And it’s just like a blink and it’s done,” said Sweeney.

The security and durability of the ClearVote system, combined with its ease-of-use, allowed the county to successfully transition to a new system ahead of the Presidential Election and train their poll workers quickly and effectively.

“The machines are actually quite secure - they were easily locked and sealed,”  said Republican Commissioner Henry Zwack. “They’re easy to transport for our staff and incredibly easy for the inspectors to turn on and operate on election day. I mean you can’t make it any more simple: just plug it in and it starts.”

Reflecting on their first elections with the ClearVote system, Rensselaer County's team shared that their experience has been a “walk in the park.” “It appeared to be just the right fit for us, and it turns out it has,” said Zwack.
