BOSTON, MA – Clear Ballot has signed new ClearVote system customers throughout Washington and Oregon. Successful, efficient elections conducted with the ClearVote system by neighboring counties led to this expansion in each state.  With the additions of Whatcom, Grays Harbor, Snohomish and Lewis Counties in Washington, and Yamhill and Hood River Counties in Oregon, Clear Ballot has increased its share of registered voters to 57% in Washington and 68%, in Oregon.

Successful elections run by Washington’s King and Pierce Counties with ClearVote demonstrated the benefits of a faster election operation.  Clear Ballot’s modern and advanced digital adjudication provides counties with substantial improvements in speed, efficiency, and transparency of results in comparison with older legacy systems.

In Whatcom County, Election Manager Diana Bradrick said after using ClearVote for the first time in the February election, “Everything was so easy! From election set up through certification reports, and everything in-between, all the processes were more efficient, easy to understand, and saved us tons of time.” She added, “Clear Ballot is an innovative, forward thinking company that will help shape the future of elections.  They were a clear winner compared to other solutions we evaluated, and have done an exceptional job getting our implementation completed on a very aggressive timeline.”

Snohomish County Elections and Recording Manager Garth Fell, who recently implemented ClearVote, said “Snohomish County is excited to join the growing list of customers partnering with Clear Ballot.  The ClearVote system will provide our voters with an intuitive, easy to mark paper ballot and secure, transparent and efficient tools to accurately count ballots and report election results.  Clear Ballot has designed a certified system that is cutting edge today and will stay current with changing technology into the future.”

Lewis County specifically wanted fewer steps in the ballot design process, which ClearVote provides. Lewis County Auditor, Larry Grove and his staff said in a statement, “Clear Ballot is clearly the most state of the art election software available in the State of Washington. We are excited to begin using it to leverage its modern software and hardware to provide increased transparency for our voters and candidates.”

Hood River County Director of Elections Brian Beebe called Clear Ballot a “Win win!” stating that, “After witnessing my colleague’s success with Clear Ballot, it was clear to me that Clear Ballot would improve our elections by reducing costs and the labor required to conduct elections, and more importantly improve the transparency and integrity of our elections.”   Process improvements were important for Yamhill county as well, and are expected to lead to operational cost savings, including the elimination of unexpected fees for hardware or software from inefficiencies in older systems.

Clear Ballot CEO Larry Moore said, “Our expansion in Oregon and Washington is a testament to the significant improvements counties have made in speed, performance and efficiency.  We’re looking forward to delivering and exceeding each county’s expectations as we continue to work to improve elections in the northwest.”
